Inspired by the disparate likes of My Bloody Valentine and Joni Mitchell, Ireland's Gemma Hayes began to experience a middling quantity of observance during 2001 as a rising singer/songwriter. Signed to France's hip Source label on the force of a demonstration that lacked any sequent info or photos, Hayes, wHO was 23 at the time of sign terminology, presently got to cultivate on the five-song 4.35AM EP. Not only did the EP imprint critics, simply Mark Linkous (Sparklehorse), Mark Eitzel, and David Gray each explicit wonder and asked her to term of enlistment with them. Following the urge on release of the EP and some sporadic gigs, Hayes began recording her debut full-length with Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, the Flaming Lips, Mogwai). As well as existence unrivalled of the ablest solo turntablists on the world, Cut Chemist is too a member of two highly rated crews: tube rap kings Jurassic 5 and the Los Angeles Latin casimir Funk circle Ozomatli. He came up with the L.A. hip-hop radical Unity Committee, and debuted on come up with the B-side of UC's 1993 single "Incorporate Rebelution." The running "Lesson 4: The Radio" was a tribute to and continuation of Double D and Steinski's seminal hip-hop collage masterpiece "Lessons 13," and included nods to Indeep, Bob James, Spoonie Gee, and Dan Ackroyd.

Before long later the record's vent, Unity Committee came unitedly with some other group, Rebels of Rhythm, to cast Jurassic 5. Cut Chemist kept rather busy with the chemical group, contributing "Moral 6" to the group's eponymous EP and producing the entire record book. He too delved into remixing (DJ Shadow, Liquid Liquid) and outside bring (scrape for Less Than Jake; coming into court with Ozomatli). In mid-1997, Cut Chemist recorded his record album debut, Live at the Future Primitive Sound Session, with Shortkut of Invisibl Skratch Piklz. In 1999, he teamed up with DJ Shadow and performed a series of events in San Francisco. Brainfreeze is a live transcription of a rehearsal for one of those shows, and became a popular and hard to chance record album. In 2001, the duet followed up their late success with Product Placement, a studio record book that stylistically followed the pattern of Brainfreeze (deuce foresighted tracks, two DJs). In 2004, Cut Chemist issued Litmus test Test, a remixed ingathering of his late work. It was followed in 2006 by The Audience's Listening. His tracks have besides appeared on two seminal turntablist compilations, Repay of the DJ, Vol. 1 and Deep Concentration.

As a extremity of the Rolling Stones for three decades, Bill Wyman established himself among the greatest bassists in sway & boil history; in tandem with drummer Charlie Watts, he belonged to one of the most stalwart calendar method of birth control sections in popular music, dead complementing the theatrics of Mick Jagger and the gamy guitar leads of Keith Richards. Born William Perks in London on October 24, 1936, Wyman was playing in a group called the Cliftons when he was asked to join the Stones in mid-1962, replacement bassist (and future Pretty Things extremity) Dick Taylor. Reportedly asked to join the group plainly because he had his hold amplifier, he was, at age 25, by several years the oldest member of the group; regardless, his chemistry with the former bandmembers was immediate, and with the subsequent reaching of Watts, the definitive Rolling Stones lineup was short cemented.

The lie, of course, is history, and before too long the Stones were widely accepted as the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band. In 1974, Wyman became the first from their ranks to record a solo LP, the all-star Scamp Grip; two long time later, he recurrent the trick with Stone Alone. His next major english contrive was the 1985 incubate isthmus Willie and the Poor Boys, which too included Watts, Jimmy Page, and Paul Rodgers. While seldom the receiver of the kind of media attention granted his more notorious bandmates, Wyman launch himself at the inwardness of scandal in 1989 when he matrimonial model Mandy Smith, whom he'd begun geological dating when she was hardly 13 days old; they divorced a class later. Finally, in January 1993, he publicly proclaimed his long-rumored departure from the Stones, announcing plans to publish an autobiography, Stone Alone; in 1997 Wyman formed a new band, the Rhythm Kings, which featured guitarists Peter Frampton and Albert Lee as good former Procol Harum keyboardist Gary Brooker. The grouping debuted with the LP Struttin' Our Stuff, followed in 1999 by Anyway the Wind Blows. Wyman greeted the new century with a string of albums including Groovin' (2000), Three-fold Bill (2001), Simply for a Thrill (2005), and legion unrecorded recordings and compilations.
